Martin Luther King

We Are a United Nation, MLK’s Dream Has Come

At any given preschool in most any town you can find children like those pictured here, of a multitude of races.  Like the song says “Red and Yellow, Black and White, we are precious in His sight.”
Despite publicized incidents regarding racism, our country HAS changed since Martin Luther King Junior first said, “I have a dream,”  We have joined together, UNITY – the missing component is being restored.
Christians of all races are loving and forgiving each other.  Nearly anyone with a desire and tenacity can achieve whatever they set their mind to here in the US regardless of race.
Unity has been amplified during our nation’s crisis.  Just as MLK said in his speech, “I have a dream today…With this faith we will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope.”  The stone has been hewn.  We have, “transformed the jangling discords of our nation into a beautiful symphony of brotherhood,” as the speech continues.  We do work together.  We do allow our children to play together.  We do accept all peoples.
On January 21, when we celebrated Martin Luther King Jr. Day, let’s focus on the fact that much has been accomplished.  That Unity indeed is here.  It may not be finished growing, but the baby has arrived, and it is sure to become full grown and mature as time goes by.
The heart of God longs for Christians of all races to love and forgive each other.  In Christ our similarities far outweigh our differences.  We can get together.  Indeed we must continue to get together, thus fulfilling the law of Christ, the law of Love.
Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! __For there the Lord commanded the blessing –Life forevermore. PSALM 133:1 & 3
